In the Chair - Real People Real Hair - Kazz

I don’t normally start by showing the back. But the breakage and damage was so bad that the entire top portion at the back had snapped off. Kazz had been paying a lot for hair colouring and for regular Olaplex treatments over the years. Yet her extremely damaged hair quality was something I regularly see. Unnecessarily weak thin broken hair, and dull colour.

I couldn’t possibly comment that the Olaplex treatments don’t seem to perform quite as promised in my experience. Perhaps they do and comforted by this, people then over-process and over-style their hair more. I just don’t seem to come across people with fantastic hair quality that say they use Olaplex. The end results seem to be no improvement in hair quality. Certainly a potion alone is unlikely to compensate for poor colouring and excessive clumsy heat styling.

But in my own and thousands of other people’s experience, our LifeSaver Treatment is a much better way to protect and restore hair quality.

We started the recovery journey with a combination of an infinitely better haircut and colour along with our LifeSaver Ultra treatment. But it cannot stop there. So we'll work closely with Kazz for the rest of this year ensuring we restore her hair to at least double the thickness at the ends and show her much better styling and colouring techniques.

1. The Haircut

Kazz didn't want to lose any length and wanted to restore the strength of the blunt-Bob effect at the front. This will take time for the damaged hair to thicken up but we could help restore a better shape for now by layering the back up to the shortest broken layers. This also lifted the hair giving a softer rounder effect and more fluidity of movement.

Proportions are everything and even though we kept the length and didn't take much more than an inch off any hair the look and feel were transformed.

2. Colour

Our colour technician, Diana, started the journey to reduce the amount of bleach going onto the hair and also ensure it's not over-processed. Kazz had been having all over colour and was now moving to highlights.

There was no point putting reverse dark lights into the hair as it was so porous they would have washed away within weeks leaving a muddy tone. Better to wait for the natural hair to grow through. Her natural base was a good colour that will provide contrast and dimension to the finished look which ultimately will look a brighter and a more interesting blonde.

3. Condition

A key product for Kazz's hair is LifeSaver Treatment. This will protect the bonds in the hair so that fewer break in the first place. It's not an oil-based treatment and you cannot overuse LifeSaver®. It feeds, hydrates and strengthens hair without weighing it down and gives vibrancy to all hair types.

4. Styling

Thicker Quicker is the go-to product to boost the roots and a little Volumising Mousse for the mid-lengths and ends is the perfect combo for maximising volume.

“Absolutely love my hair….it’s made such a difference and with all the products I’ll be a changed woman, hairwise. Thank you all so much.” - Kazz

Preparation
We used the LifeSaver Pre-wash Treatment and washed with Cashmere Protective UV Protective Shampoo and Conditioner.

Styling
A little Thicker Quicker and Volumising Mousse helped give body and control. We used the Large Round Brush Soft Bristle to style.

I love long hair. But sometimes you can have too much of a good thing, and if it’s not cut properly it can drown the wearer and make shampoo-days a dreaded event. Tara had gorgeous hair but the haircut had no shape. Just the usual...

How many Bobs have you got?

These quick clunky haircuts are becoming prolific as hairdressers become less and less able to layer hair properly. Emily had the very common 3-step Bob. The baseline, a step four inches off the bottom, and a sort of torn irregular piece suggestive of a long

I love long hair. But sometimes it’s better to cut it back and start again fresh. Especially when the ends have suffered serious over-processing of colour on multiple occasions. And it’s great to have a change too.
